Forest Bathing in Coed y Werin
After an unpredictable week of wet, showery cold weather, Saturday gifted us something truly special. The sun was warm, the skies wide and blue, and the woodland was alive with birdsong and the scent of new growth pushing up through the earth.
Ten nature-loving forest bathers joined us for a slow, mindful walk into Coed y Werin, each step an invitation to pause, breathe, and simply notice what was already there, waiting to be found.

Into the Wood
Guided gently through the trees, the group settled into a deep sense of calm and quiet presence that is so particular to this woodland. There was no agenda, no rush, only the soft unfolding of the moment, and the willingness to meet it.
We sat beside the waterfall, hands resting on the bark of an old western red cedar, breathing in the wild garlic carried on the air.
Every sense was awakened. Every detail became a small treasure waiting to be found, the texture of lichen under a fingertip, the distant percussion of a woodpecker, the cool breath rising from Nant y Pwyntel stream.
What we noticed
SOUND
Birdsong filled the Canopy above
SCENT
Wild garlic drifting on the breeze
TOUCH
Fragrant bark beneath resting palms
SIGHT
Blue sky through opening leaves

SYNCHRONICITY IN MOTION
The session flowed into a gentle tai chi practice beside the trees and something quite special unfolded. Watching the group move together, soft and slow and completely in tune with one another, felt like witnessing synchronicity in motion. A shared rhythm. A quiet harmony.
The feedback afterwards was simply phenomenal. But more than that, it was felt, in the stillness, in the smiles, and in the way people lingered just a little longer before leaving, as if reluctant to let the morning go.
This is what Coed y Werin Offers. A place to visit, a place to reconnect
