Save the Date: We’re Hosting a Macmillan Coffee Morning This September!

Grab your favourite mug, we’ve got something sweet planned.

This September, we are joining forces again with St Michael & All Angels Church in Lower Machen and we’re throwing open our doors (and our cake tins) for the Macmillan Coffee Morning, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

We’re getting together for coffee, tea, and an unreasonable amount of cake, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that helps millions of people living with cancer get the care, information, and support they need, when they need it most.

Cancer touches almost all of us, whether it’s a colleague, a friend, or someone in our own family. Macmillan Cancer Support is there for people from the moment of diagnosis, offering everything from financial guidance to someone to simply talk to. Every pound raised at coffee mornings like ours helps fund that support.

It’s a small thing, a coffee, a slice of cake, a chat that adds up to something meaningful.

We’re thrilled that our patron, Iolo Williams, naturalist, author and tv presenter, and (as anyone who knows him will tell you) a fellow cake enthusiast, is once again backing us to the hilt. Iolo’s usually found out in the field with his binoculars and cameras, championing wildlife. This September, he’s put them down to help us care for people living with cancer instead.

His support means a huge amount to us, and we hope his love of cake proves just as infectious as his love of nature.

All money goes direct to Macmillan Cancer Support

You don’t need to do anything complicated. Just:

  • Show up and enjoy some cake with us
  • Donate whatever you can, even if you can’t make it in person
  • Spread the word to colleagues, friends, and family

Whether you’re a Victoria sponge purist or a “try a bit of everything” type, there’ll be something for you to taste on the day or take home for the family. And every slice goes toward a brilliant cause.

No RSVP required just bring your appetite and your generosity. We can’t wait to see you there for a morning of good company, better cake, and a great cause.
