There are some moments in the story of Caerphilly Woodlands Trust that feel particularly special, and this is certainly one of them.
In 2019, we were delighted to welcome Iolo Williams as Patron of Caerphilly Woodlands Trust.
Many of you will know Iolo as the much-loved naturalist and familiar face of BBC wildlife programmes such as Springwatch. But for us, above all else, he is someone who has dedicated his life to understanding, protecting and sharing his love of the natural world.
To have someone with Iolo’s knowledge, passion and commitment standing alongside us was a huge honour.
Our woodland may be small in size, but it is rich in wildlife, history and wonder and we believe passionately that places like Coed y Werin matter. They need people who will care for them, speak up for them and help ensure they remain there for future generations.
So, we were absolutely thrilled when Iolo agreed to become our Patron.
Here’s a little film from that very special time… 🌿
Welcome to the Caerphilly Woodlands Trust family, Iolo. ❤️
